It started at a celebration of life

Hi! My name is Zach, and I am the founder of the Bright Booth Company, based here in Calgary, Alberta.

I got introduced to film and photography through action sports in my early twenties, and quickly fell in love with capturing the authentic stories of real, genuine people.

In 2024 my wife lost her mom, an amazing woman who had made a huge impact on the lives of so many people throughout her lifetime. We knew there were lots of amazing stories about her out there, and we began searching for a way to gather them all together in one place. Eventually we landed on the idea of a video guestbook at her celebration of life, so people could record and submit their stories.

We watched person after person pour their hearts out, sharing meaningful stories, experiences and encouragements. In that moment we knew this was something everyone could use a little more of.

So in the winter of 2026 we took the leap, cleared out a corner in our garage and got started building our first official booth by hand, launching bookings in the spring of the same year. Right away it was amazing to see how the booth resonated with people and gave them space to share: a tear-filled childhood memory, a group beatboxing session, well-worn advice from over forty years of marriage.

One of the most meaningful things in life for all of us is getting the chance to really connect with the people we love and get to do life with. My hope above all with the Bright Booth is to give you a fun tool and an opportunity to do exactly that.
